About

We are a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Animal Rescue Organization that is dedicated to rehabilitating and finding loving homes for unwanted, sick, injured, abused, and neglected dogs. We rescue from the high kill animal shelters, strays off the streets, and owner surrenders in mostly Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. We are not a breed specific rescue and take in all age groups and health issues. The only requirement is that we have a reliable foster home to care for the dog until adoption.

We are always in need of volunteers, supplies, fosters and adopters.

Where do you get the animals you help?

We rescue dogs from high kill animal shelters in Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach County that are in imminent danger of being euthanized. We often get calls from people who can no longer keep their pets due to moving, illness, or other life altering situations and re-home them. We also take in dogs that are found wandering the streets get them medical care and find them good homes.

What is involved in rescuing and rehabilitating an animal?

When a dog comes into our rescue we have our vet assess their medical needs. Often times when a dog comes out of a shelter it has kennel cough and needs antibiotics to get healthy. Our vet provides the medical care and prescribes the necessary medications and we bathe and groom the animal. Most times they are covered in ticks and fleas and have matted fur that needs to be shaved down. They sometimes have mange and require medication and medicated bathes to heal. Many times they are unaltered and need to be spayed or neutered. We also update all of their immunizations and insert a microchip.

What is the cost involved in rescuing an animal?

As you know vet care is very expensive. Our vets give us a reduced rate, however, it definitely adds up! Veterinarians charge an office visit, the cost of medication, spay/neuter, inserting a microchip. In severe cases an animal may need x-rays, orthopedic care, to be seen by a specialist, or behavior training, just to name a few. We purchase leashes, collars, food, toys, crates, and treats to be provide in the foster homes. Many dogs need grooming services. It costs $200-$300 minimum to rehabilitate a dog, sometimes much more than that and it can go way into the thousands if there is a major issue! We have helped many litters of mommies and puppies, dogs with broken bones, mange and other skin conditions, and Erlichea and other tick born diseases.

Where do you keep the animals you rescue?

We do not have a facility, therefore, our dogs are in foster homes. People volunteer to allow the animal to stay with them until a permanent home is found. The foster parent provides the love and care necessary for the poor soul to heal and rehabilitate so they can learn to trust and feel safe. They administer medication, teach them how to walk on a leash, get them housebroken, take them to their vet appointments, and set up meet and greets with potential adopters and get the privilege of loving them up!
